Courtesy Posting for BARC’s Owner-to-Owner program
At BARC CT, we understand that sometimes life circumstances change and rehoming a beloved pet becomes necessary. On a case-by-case basis, we offer an Owner to Owner program by way of courtesy posting to assist owners who need to find a new home for their dog.
To be eligible for this program, you must follow all rules and requirements. Once accepted, BARC CT’s Owner to Owner program includes:
- Featuring your dog on our Facebook page and social media channels to connect with potential adopters.
- Screening applications to help ensure a safe and appropriate match for your pet.
- Facilitating communication between you and potential adopters for a private adoption.
- If you are interested in a courtesy-posted dog, please complete our Private Adoption Form.
Requirements:
- Communication
- You will treat your coordinator respectfully and with kindness—we’re doing you a favor and your attitude shall reflect as such at all times.
- You will be responsive to all calls/texts from your coordinator. If you cannot speak at the time when your coordinator is key, when your coordinator reaches out to you, you will reply as soon as possible the same day and be mindful of your coordinator’s time.
Advertising:
- You will remove any posts or ads from your personal social media and any groups or pages where you shared your dog’s post.
- You will allow BARC CT to handle all inquiries about your dog and you not comment or interact with comments on the post about your dog,
We have a *one strike rule* for courtesy posts, if you violate any of the above rules or fail to adhere to any of your coordinator’s requests, you will be suspended from the program and your dog’s post will be terminated.
- It’s important to note all dogs posted through this service remain in the care of their current owners until adoption. They are not transferred into the ownership or custody of BARC CT at any point.
