Benji

Male | 3 years | Pittie Mix

Meet Benji!

Benji is a 3 year old, 85 pound pit bull with a solid build and a gentle presence. At first, he can seem unsure about the world around him. New environments and busy settings are not his favorite, and he startles easily. But once he feels safe, his true nature comes through.

When settled, Benji is mellow, quiet, and deeply content simply being near his people. He enjoys peaceful walks, long naps, and staying close to those he trusts. He does not demand attention, but he appreciates steady companionship.

Benji is housebroken, crate trained, and reliably knows sit. He is still building confidence and continues to adjust as he settles into foster care. He benefits from patience, calm handling, and a predictable routine.

He is nervous when meeting new people but has shown no aggression. With time and consistency, he relaxes and begins to show his softer side. Because he is still gaining confidence, a quieter home would suit him best. An adult household with an active but low key lifestyle would allow him to continue coming out of his shell at his own pace.

Benji is still new to foster care, so we are learning more about him each day, including how he feels about other animals. What is already clear is that he is a sensitive, thoughtful dog who wants to feel secure.

For someone willing to move slowly and build trust, Benji offers something special. He may not be the loudest personality in the room, but once he feels safe, he is steady, loyal, and quietly devoted.
