Meet Clarence!

Clarence is a senior Bulldog weighing about 80 pounds, and he is absolutely convinced he is a lap dog.

He is one of those rare dogs whose presence alone makes people smile. Big, expressive, affectionate, and just the right amount of goofy, Clarence brings warmth and light wherever he goes. He leans in for love, settles happily beside you, and truly believes closeness is the best place to be.

Clarence came to us just before he was scheduled to be euthanized due to his age and a minor untreated skin infection. With proper veterinary care and support, he has completely blossomed. What we discovered underneath was not a dog at the end of his story, but one very much still living it. He is full of personality, affection, and quiet joy.

He enjoys moderate exercise, short adventures, and plenty of companionship. A cozy, low key home would suit him beautifully. Clarence prefers a home where someone is around most of the time, whether retired, working from home, or simply not gone for long hours. He thrives on connection and does not hide the fact that he wants to be near his person.

He is polite and friendly, and does well with calm dogs who match his steady energy. Cats are not a good fit for him. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has already received extensive veterinary care through BARC CT.

Clarence is eligible for a significantly reduced adoption donation. At this stage in his life, what matters most is finding the right person and a soft place to land.

If you are looking for steady companionship, deep affection, and a dog who will happily claim your lap despite his size, Clarence may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.
