BARC-CT is a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal advocacy + rescue organization made up entirely of dedicated volunteers. If you love animals, you’re in the right place, and we’d love to have you join our team! There are several ways you can volunteer:

Fostering
Fosters provide temporary space for a rescued dog to stay in their home on an emergency basis or for a pre-determined amount of time. The more foster homes we have, the more lives we can save!

Transporting
Help by transporting animals to their foster home, vet appointments, boarding facility, or even to their "forever" home. Transport is needed primarily throughout Connecticut.

Fundraising + Event Organizing
You can help by conducting fundraisers and supply drives. Kid's School? Work? Gym? Ask around, you'd be surprised how many people would like to get involved by helping to raise money for a local animal charity. Let us know your fundraising ideas and how we can make it happen!

Photographer
There are thousands of pets competing for adoption on the internet and a beautiful photo helps a dog get noticed. If you're a photographer or just have a camera and some creativity, we could really use your help!.

Website + Social Media Manager
Social Media savvy? Experienced writer? We want you! We are in need of people to assist with uploading photos and creating write-ups for our available dogs for our website, Facebook page, and to pet adoption sites we use. This includes continuously monitoring and updating these pages as needed. Let us know if this sounds like the perfect position for you!

I understand that interactions with any animal is potentially dangerous and there is always risk of injury or damage. This statement includes the pursuance of animal seizure in the event that a BARC CT representative feels an animal is no longer safe in the home in which the animal was placed either temporarily by way of fostering or permanently by way of adoption.
